History of Kapil Sharma

Kapil Sharma is an Indian Comedian. He was born on 2 April 1981 in Amritsar, Punjab. His father Jeethendra Kumar was a head constable in the Punjab Police and his mother is a housewife.His brother, Ashok Kumar is also a constable. His father died of cancer in 2004 at Safdurjung hospital in Delhi.

He hosted a largely popular television comedy show Comedy Nights with Kapil from June 2013 to January 2016. Currently. He is hosting another comedy chat show on Sony Entertainment Television named 'The Kapil Sharma Show'.

Kapil Sharma worked on the comedy show Hasde Hasande Raho on MH One. Then he got his first break in The Great Indian Laughter Challenge. He became the winner of the show in 2007, for which he won 10 lakhs as prize money. After that he participated in Sony Entertainment Television's Comedy Circus and he won a total of six seasons of Comedy Circus. He hosted dance show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 6 and also hosted comedy show Chhote Miyan.He also participated in the show Ustaadon Ka Ustaad. In 2013, Sharma launched his own show, Comedy Nights with Kapil. Sharma hosted the 60th Filmfare awards 2015 along with Karan Johar as co-host. He was the presenter for the fourth season of Celebrity Cricket League 2014. He was featured as a guest on the opening episode of Indian television game show Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 8. He was also featured as a celebrity guest on The Anupam Kher Show. He was to make his film debut with Yashraj Films, but later he opted out of it. He made his Bollywood debut as lead in the movie Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon, which is a romantic-comedy directed by Abbas Mustan opposite four heroines, Elli Avram, Manjari Phadnis, Simran Kaur Mundi and Sai Lokur.The film was released on 25 September 2015 and became a huge success at the box-office. After Comedy Nights with Kapil, Sharma signed a contract with Sony TV for a new show called "The Kapil Sharma Show", which is a comedy show. The Kapil Sharma Show hit television screens on 23 April 2016, On 26 June 2016 Sharma sang the Indian national anthem at the inauguration ceremony of Pro Kabaddi League 4.
