Fans of “The Big Bang Theory” are in luck. CBS on Monday announced a spinoff starring Iain Armitage of HBO’s “Big Little Lies” as a 9-year-old Sheldon Cooper, the witty theoretical physicist portrayed by Jim Parsons in “Big Bang.”
Titled “Young Sheldon,” the half-hour comedy will center on the character’s high school days in East Texas, with Mr. Parsons narrating as the adult Sheldon.
Jon Favreau will direct and be an executive producer of the show’s first episode, which will air in the fall.
